Planning your Reception

The basic differences in Wedding Receptions are somewhat obvious. The location or venue site…. will the ceremony be held on-site or off-site…. projected size of the guest list, and the timeline of the reception events, from arrival of guest to the last song of the evening.

Take the time to prepare for a key session with one of Michigan’s most requested event music providers DJ Steve Miller as he provides for each and every Bride and Groom, family member, and wedding coordinator, the consultative approach to wedding reception planning.

The “live” or “ virtual” visit to the venue

Your DJ Steve Miller, will make arrangements to visit the venue prior to the day of the event, to view the designated loading / unloading areas, available time of access, meet the sales team or event coordinator, verify available power sources versus DJ Booth placement. As a side note he will make note of the ceiling heights, entrance doors for introductions, projected speaker placement, emergency exits, and venue rules of etiquette as designated for vendors.

The “Week of” final  plan

Your DJ Steve Miller, will want to meet with you at the beginning of the week in which the event will take place, to walk through the final plans, changes/ or additions in scheduled events, and to insure a comfort zone of readiness. This meeting can take place over the phone, or in person, at the discretion of the client.

The review of the Event Planning Document

Your DJ Steve Miller, has provided for you a very detailed document that will walk you through the entire evening from start to finish. The “Event Planner” Document is available via the web site under the Menu item “Contact us” and is can be printed for your use, or by e-mail or fax, or regular mail should you prefer.
